Description
Whether you would like to learn new creative skills or to look into the possibility of a new writing-based career, MAE Community Learning courses can provide you with a stepping stone to progress
Creative Writing 2 further develops skills in writing non-fiction, fiction, scripts and poetry. Complete beginners in creative writing are also welcome to join this course.
Learners will work on a variety of tasks to include writing a script for a short play or film and writing poems in various forms.
The course will also include advice on publication, so if you have always wanted to begin or publish your story this is the course for you!
What will I learn on this course?
Through written exercises, class discussion, and reading, learners will be introduced to more advanced techniques of creative writing.
Learners will:
1 Write the detailed plot for a short story or script.
2 Write a 1000-word short story.
3. Explore the relationships between several fictional characters.

Suitable for beginners and those with some experience.
Is there anything else I need to know about the course?
There will be a written assignment to be completed each week, these can usually be completed in 1-2 hours but this can vary.
Are there any additional costs?
Learners may wish to obtain books, and some other materials, related to this course but that is optional. The tutor will discuss recommended texts with you throughout the course.
What could I go on to do after this course?
Creative Writing follow on courses, offered by MAE, would be a good next step for learners who complete this course, speak to your tutor.

Attendance Policy
In order to get the most out of your course you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. We recommend at least 85%.
If you do have a holiday booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes.
