Description
This is a one day course that could benefit learners with existing sewing experience who wish to develop or improve their skills to produce a professionally made garment.

What Will I Learn On This Course?
Learners will:
1. Further develop and demonstrate the workings of the commercial pattern for one project and assemble the project professionally using suitable fabric.
Not all of the above is achievable in one day course, it may be necessary to book more Fridays or join a 10/15 week course.
Whether you would like to learn new creative skills or to investigate the possibility of a new dressmaking -based career, MAE Community Learning courses can provide you with a stepping stone to progress

This course is suitable for students of all abilities but some sewing and machine skills would be helpful
Is There Anything Else I Need To Know About This Course?
Please be aware that whilst this course is practical in nature some sessions will include theory and professional related training such as H&S, risk assessments, public liability etc
Learners will need the following tools and equipment please do not purchase until you are sure the course will run:
This course is suitable for students of all abilities but some sewing and machine skills would be helpful. Beginners could join and would work on a simple garment all patterns and fabrics for the workshop can be purchased after discussion with the tutor.
You will need to bring with you:
• Sharp dressmakers' scissors
• Pins
• Tape measure
• Threads x 2
• Sellotape
• Notebook and pen
• A bobbin or 2
• Marking chalk (purchased after discussion with the tutor)
Commercial pattern and fabric (new learners will purchase these items after discussion with the tutor).
Will There Be Additional Costs?
The additional fabric called interfacing when needed will be ordered and purchased from the tutor.

Single session-
This is one session course- please attend for the duration of the lesson. If you enrol and then cannot attend, please inform us as soon as possible on 01634 338400 so that your place can be given to someone else.
