What Will I Learn On This Course?
Learners will: 1. Be able to respond appropriately to questions on name and nationality 2. Recognise at least 8 words for food and 8 words for drinks or more in a bar/café menu and to ask for the bill. 3. To list 8 words for groceries or more and to recognise 5 words or more for quantities and packaging. Whether you would like to learn new creative skills or to investigate the possibility of a new language-based career, MAE Community Learning courses can provide you with a stepping stone to progress

Is This Course Suitable For Me?
This course Level 1 Module 1 course is suitable for complete beginners with no previous knowledge of the language.

Is There Anything Else I Need To Know About This Course?
Please be aware that whilst this course is practical in nature some sessions will include theory and professional related training such as H&S , risk assessments, public liability etc Your initial assessment will take place during the first session and you, and your tutor will record your entry knowledge and individual requirements on your individual learning plan. During the course you will have regular one-to-one discussions with your tutor to help acknowledge and record your progress and achievements. It is always beneficial to spend time between sessions reviewing the topics covered. Your tutor may also set home-study to help you practice. Listening to or watching films, music, radio and TV programmes in the language would be helpful for vocabulary and accent.

Will There Be Additional Costs?
You will need to bring along a notebook and pens to the first session and will need a folder for your notes and handouts. Please do not buy until you know that the course will run

What Is The Attendance Policy?
Multiple sessions- To get the most out of your course you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. We recommend at least 90%. If you do have a holiday booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes. If you are unavoidably ill or unable to attend, please contact 01634 338400 so that we can let your tutor know, and so they can send you any work you may have missed
