Description
This GCSE Maths course is designed to develop essential mathematical skills and understanding, preparing learners for further study, employment, or everyday life. It covers key topics in number, algebra, geometry, statistics and problem-solving, with a focus on applying maths in real-world contexts.
What Will I Learn On This Course?
• Number operations, fractions, decimals and percentages
• algebraic expressions, equations and graphs
• Geometry: shapes, angles, area, volume and transformations
• Ratio, proportion and rates of change
• probability and interpreting statistical data
• problem solving and reasoning skills
Is This Course Suitable For Me?
You need to be 19 years and over and have no GCSE 4/C or equivalent qualifications in Maths.
Before you begin your studies, an initial assessment will take place in order to help us to place you on the most suitable course.

This course is ideal for learners who;

• are ready to build on Functional Skills Level 2 knowledge

What Is The Attendance Policy?
In order to get the most out of your course, you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. We recommend at least 90%. If you do have a holiday booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes. If you are unavoidably ill or unable to attend, please contact 01634 338400 so that we can let your tutor know and so they can send you any work you may have missed.
How are IT/Digital skills used and enhanced on this course?
You may need to use the internet for some of your course- using a tablet, laptop or computer. The tutor will speak to you about useful websites, apps and online resources which you may be asked to use for homework.
