Description

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Suitable for all.

During this relaxing day we will make a lovely cushion cover, all the while improving your sewing machine skills. Your class will have options of adding piping or some applique or even trying the overlocking machines.

Join us in our fabulous, fully equipped sewing studio for this friendly, relaxed class where we will cover various functions of the sewing machine and learn some techniques along the way for a faster, more professional finish.

All materials are provided and you can proudly take home your project at the end of the day.

Just turn up, make friends and have a lovely day!
  

What will I learn on this course?
Learners will: 1. Learn the basics of threading and using a sewing machine 2. Complete a cushion cover learning tricks of the trade to achieve a more professional finish 3. Learn at least one new technique along the way i.e. piping, applique or overlocking

Is this course suitable for me?
Suitable for complete beginners or those who have rusty skills and need a refresher course

Is there anything I need to know about the course?
Learners do not need to bring anything on this day (except their lunch), although if you already have some sewing tools, you may like to bring them with you to use on the day.

Attendance Policy
In order to get the most out of your course you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. We recommend at least 90%. If you do have a holiday booked during term time please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes. If you are unavoidably ill or unable to attend please contact 01634 338400 so that we can let your tutor know, and so they can send you any work you may have missed

Learners are encouraged to research proposed design ideas on computer ready to discuss in class.
