What will I learn on this course?
How to introduce yourself and greet others, use British Sign Language to finger spell and improve your deaf awareness and communication skills. You will learn how to: - Communicate using BSL to create a basic conversation in a social setting. This will include using vocabulary relating to food and drink, the weather and family members. - Explain the history behind some signs and gestures - Produce signs using good handshapes and gestures to ensure clear communication - Improve your finger spelling to support communication and check for understanding

Is this course suitable for me?
- Learners should be able to fingerspell using the BSL alphabet and attended a course in BSL such as Using basic British Sign Language Skills to Communicate prior to enrolling. - Learners are fully supported to achieve their goals and we strive to be an inclusive provider - Learners need to be aware that there will be some homework set and individual research to undertake as part of their personal development
