Description
Whether you would like to learn new creative skills or to investigate the possibility of a new wool craft career, MAE Community Learning courses can provide you with a stepping stone to progress
Join us in our fabulous studio for this friendly, relaxed class.
This is a fun and accessible craft which will enable you to create beautiful items and also aims to improve your wellbeing through learning this relaxing skill.
You will revisit casting on and off techniques and aim to improve and expand on skills learnt in course 1 and 2 so that and then progress to onto developing pattern use to create designs with more detail.
Please do not buy tools and equipment until you know that the course will run.
What will I learn on this course?
Learners will:
1. Demonstrate neat casting and casting off for at least one project or sample.
2. demonstrate increasing stitches on at least one project
3.use a pattern and be able to create at lest one item or sample using the pattern
Is this course suitable for me?
For beginners and improvers , ideally for those who have completed course 1/2 but new learners may join this course.
Is there anything I need to know about the course?
Learners will need yarn and needles or crochet hook, but your tutor will advise you on this during your first session.
You will also need:
Size 4mm crochet hook
Size 4mm knitting needles
ape measure,
notebook and pen,
small scissors or snips

Attendance Policy
In order to get the most out of your course you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. We recommend at least 85%. If you do have a holiday booked during term time please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes. If you are unavoidably ill or unable to attend, please contact 01634 338400 so that we can let your tutor know, and so they can send you any work you may have missed
How are digital skills used and enhanced on this course
Information technology may be used to introduce skills, techniques, and the work of other artists along with safe internet usage. Whilst you do not need any IT skills to enrol on this course, please do speak to the tutor if this is an area you would like to explore.
