Description
All children and young people deserve to be safe and well cared for within a safe and protective family. However, unfortunately this is not always the case. With over 50,000 children identified as needing protection from abuse in the UK, it is important that those working in the care sector understand the risks of abusive and exploitative behaviour that some children experience. Knowing what strategies are used to protect them from this behaviour, whilst following procedures, is essential to helping those affected.
This course introduces you to the knowledge and understanding of working with babies and young children from birth to 7 years, and supports the development of the practical and technical skills needed to work with young children.
Please note: This course runs on Mondays and Fridays

Learners will learn about:
- The factors which influence the growth and development of children from birth to 5 years 11 months.

- The use of craft activities for children of different ages to support development and how to maintain health and safety when doing this.
