Whether you would like to learn new creative skills or to investigate the possibility of a new textile-based career, MAE Community Learning courses can provide you with a stepping stone to progress.

These one-hour sessions are designed to enable current learners to be challenged and stretched further as they work on their individual projects. Learners will have tutor support to enhance their skills and knowledge as an extension of what is being learnt on the Dress Making courses.

This course is only available to learners currently on the morning session on the same day as this session.

Please do not buy tools and equipment until you know that the course will run.

What will I learn on this course?
Learners will: 1. progress a specific skill gained on the Dress Making course (individual aims will be discussed with each learner) Learners have this option to be able to produce their work more quickly and to further develop, as an extension available for all existing learners to access.

Is this course suitable for me?
This is a one-hour per week 'value added' course for learners who are enrolled on the morning sessions.

Is there anything I need to know about the course?
Learners will need the following tools and equipment please do not purchase until you are sure the course will run: A learner course file is a very important part of any work and will enable the learner to build a bank of reference. The key in these classes is that the learners are being progressed to develop not only their subject-specific skills and knowledge, but also the learner process that best enable them to be able to be successful with their chosen line of study. Therefore notebooks/portfolios which record work and enable the learner to self-assess and reflect are essential

Will there be additional costs?
Some interfacing for learners' projects will be ordered and bought from the tutor.
