Description
This free craft club is suitable for those who wish to explore a variety of different crafts in a sociable setting, for improved wellbeing. Suitable for complete beginners to experienced crafters.
What will I learn on this course?
Learners will learn the skills of applique and hand embroidery to create a decorative panel detailing their life / culture / home / life in the UK.
• Introduction to the craft - Demonstrate the related H&S rules for the tools and equipment.
• Experiment with the practical skills.
• Use the skills to produce at least one example of the craft.
Use of Information Learning Technology:
Students can research themes and images as an extension task at home if they feel it will be appropriate to their learning. Websites and designs will be suggested
Resources and materials will be supplied, although if learners have their own, they are welcome to bring that along.

The tutor will talk more with you about this over the course. Medway Adult Education run a range of creative courses- many at the Rochester Hub, and also at other partner venues.
There is a range Art and Craft courses available at MAE which you may attend dependant on your personal aspirations.
We also work with many partners locally such as Medway School, of Art and the University of Kent; information about their courses can be found in our studios, café and on Moodle. Medway has an exciting and wide-range of events, exhibitions, and activities to inspire and help you make further progress - please see the community noticeboards in the Rochester centre and again on Moodle. Your tutor will be able to talk through with your individual progression options.

Attendance Policy
Multiple sessions-
In order to get the most out of your course you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. We recommend at least 90%. If you do have a holiday booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes. If you are unavoidably ill or unable to attend, please contact 01634 338400 so that we can let your tutor know, and so they can send you any work you may have missed
