Description

This free Community Crochet Craft class is a welcoming and inclusive course designed for adult learners who wish to learn or develop crochet skills in a relaxed, sociable setting. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to refresh your knowledge, the course provides step-by-step guidance on essential techniques while encouraging creativity and personal expression.
A strong emphasis is placed on building friendships and fostering a sense of community, with learners working together, sharing ideas, and supporting one another throughout the sessions. Participants will have the opportunity to create individual crochet pieces as well as contribute to a collaborative group project, celebrating both personal achievement and collective effort. This course offers a friendly space to learn a new craft, boost wellbeing, and connect with others through shared creativity.

WHAT WILL I LEARN ON THIS COURSE?
Learners will: 1. Demonstrate at least 2 different crochet stitches 2. Produce at least 1 individual item 3. Participate in at least 1 group project Whether you would like to learn new creative skills or to investigate the possibility of a new crochet-based career, MAE Community Learning courses can provide you with a stepping stone to progress

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS COURSE?
This course is mainly practical, but some sessions will include important theory and professional topics. These may include: • Health and Safety (H&S) • Risk assessments • Public liability

WILL THERE BE ADDITIONAL COSTS?
Please bring a basic crochet kit consisting of small scissors, crochet hooks and some yarn to get you started (if you do not have these items, you can borrow them in the first week). Your tutor will speak to you during the first session to advise on materials and patterns. You will be provided with yarn for the group work elements.
