Description
Immerse yourself in the relaxing and engaging heritage craft of wood whittling with our one-day whittling course.
After spending time getting to know how to handle and use the whittling knife safely you will complete a simplified design for the face of wood spirit with a flowing beard that you will be able to take home with you.
The course is designed for both beginners and those looking to refresh their skills.
You will be able to work at your own pace with assistance from an experienced woodcarver. In our friendly workshop you will be introduced to safe working practices, wood selection, choosing the right tool, how to keep your tools sharp and the practical techniques for shaping wood with a knife.
All tools and materials are included in this one-day course.

WHAT WILL I LEARN ON THIS COURSE?
Learners will:
1. Be able to select an appropriate piece of wood to whittle.
2. Use a whittling knife safely to create at least two types of cuts.
3. Be able to maintain a sharp edge on a whittling knife.

Please be aware that whilst this course is practical in nature some sessions will include theory and professional related training such as H&S, risk assessments, public liability etc
