WHAT WILL I LEARN ON THIS COURSE?
Learners will: 1. Prepare clay (wedging) to create at least 1 sculpture. 2. Design and make at least 2 seed head sculptures. 3. Prepare the sculptures for firing. learners will also be expected to observe appropriate health & safety requirements in the pottery studio as set out in the MAE ground rules /learner contract Whether you would like to learn new creative skills or to investigate the possibility of a new pottery-based career, MAE Community Learning courses can provide you with a stepping stone to progress

IS THIS COURSE SUITABLE FOR ME?
Suitable for all, beginners to those with hand building experience.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS COURSE?
• Please bring an apron and do not wear anything you value highly. • No open toed shoes in the pottery. Long hair must be tied back (hair bands will not be provided) • It would be advisable to bring a notebook and pen. • Learners with previous experience should bring in an example of their own work to help in the initial assessment process. Some of your guided learning hours will be used to complete paperwork such as ground rules and individual learning plans for the course. You will then have time to revisit these targets with your tutor to assess your progress.

WILL THERE BE ADDITIONAL COSTS?
The cost of materials is included in the course fee. There will be no additional costs for this course. A collection day for the finished piece will be arranged with the tutor.

This is one session course- please attend for the duration of the lesson. If you enrol and then cannot attend, please inform us as soon as possible on 01634 338400 so that your place can be given to someone else.
