Description
This is a level 2C course for those who have attended Drawing & Painting previously or who have drawing and painting experience.
Throughout this drawing and painting course you will build on your skills through:
Practical art projects
Tutor demonstrations
Trying new techniques
Working on your own and with others
The course will help you grow your confidence and develop your own artistic style.
This is a drawing and painting course level 2C, upon completing this course, learners cannot redo this course at the same level or book onto lower-level Drawing & Painting courses. Learners can book onto any other Art specialism or Creative & Culture courses from 1A upwards.
WHAT WILL I LEARN ON THIS COURSE?
By the end of the course, learners will:
1. Create at least two drawings using different materials (such as pencil, charcoal, or ink)
2. Create at least two paintings using different media (such as watercolour, acrylic, or pastel)
3. Explore at least two art styles (e.g. Impressionism, Expressionism, Realism) and use them in your own work
You will also use skills like proportion, line, colour mixing, and composition to produce your own original artwork
Whether you would like to learn new creative skills or to investigate the possibility of a new art-based career, MAE Community Learning courses can provide you with a stepping stone to progress
IS THIS COURSE SUITABLE FOR ME?
This course is aimed at learners who:
Already have basic or intermediate art skills
Have done a drawing/painting course at level 1A 2B or have similar experience

This course is mainly practical, but some sessions will include important theory and professional topics. These may include:
Health and Safety (H&S)
Risk assessments
Public liability
WILL THERE BE ADDITIONAL COSTS?
Learners will need the following tools and equipment please do not purchase until you are sure the course will run:
You will need to prepare the following tools and equipment before the start of the course:
HB/2B pencil and sharpener
A kneaded putty eraser / eraser
You will be provided with an A4 sized sketch book of cartridge paper
You will need to bring your own materials
Some items (like paper) may be available to buy at the centre at a lower cost
Your tutor will advise you what to buy after the first session so you dont spend more than needed
