Description

This is a level 2B course for those who have attended Drawing & Painting previously at level 1A – 2A or who have some drawing and painting experience.

During the course you will build on your existing skills through:
• Practical art activities
• Tutor demonstrations
• Individual and group projects

This course will help you to develop confidence, creativity, and new techniques within your art practice.

If you are interested in developing your creative skills, book onto one of our courses from the Creative Arts offer.
  

WHAT WILL I LEARN ON THIS COURSE?
By the end of the course, learners will be able to: 1. Use at least two drawing materials to build confidence in still life drawing 2. Work with at least two painting or pastel mediums to explore technique 3. Apply at least two painting techniques to create original pieces of artwork. Whether you would like to learn new creative skills or to investigate the possibility of a new art-based career, MAE Community Learning courses can provide you with a stepping stone to progress

IS THIS COURSE SUITABLE FOR ME?
This course is suitable for individuals with foundational skills or extended experience in Art and Design. This is not a beginner’s course. If you have previously completed a Drawing & Painting course with us at level 2B or 2C then you are not eligible to enrol onto this course

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS COURSE?
Please be aware that whilst this course is practical in nature some sessions will include theory and professional related training such as H&S, risk assessments, public liability etc

WILL THERE BE ADDITIONAL COSTS?
Learners will need the following tools and equipment please do not purchase until you are sure the course will run: For your first class, please bring: • A4 or A3 sketchbook (or paper) • HB or 2B pencil and sharpener • Eraser Important: Do not buy materials until you know the course is running. Your tutor will advise you on any extra materials later. Extra Costs • You will need to bring your own materials • Easels and boards are provided • Paper may be available to buy at low cost

WHAT COULD I GO ON TO DO AFTER THIS COURSE?
After this course, you can: • Move on to R261059A or R261090A Level 2C Drawing & Painting or an Art Specialism course. • Join other creative courses • Work towards a BTEC Level 2 in Art & Design Skills You cannot repeat this course or move to a lower level. Medway Adult Education works with many partners locally such as MidKent College, Medway School of Arts and the University of Kent; information about their courses can be found in our studios, cafι and on Moodle.
