Description
Join us in our professional art studio at Rochester to develop your art skills to build and develop a portfolio of work. Learners will explore observational drawing, abstract art, printmaking, acrylic painting, mixed media and other appropriate art techniques to develop your own style..
You will be introduced to measuring techniques used in observational drawings and guided through various abstraction methods to develop a unique and personal art style.
All materials will be supplied free of charge.
If you are aged 19 and over and do not have Maths at level 2 or equivalent, you can access free numeracy courses through Multiply to build your confidence with numbers and learn a new skill in our professional studios.
What will I learn on this course?
1. Identify at least 2 irregular shapes when creating observational drawings.
2. Apply at least 1 measuring method when creating observational drawings.
3. Use at least 2 irregular shapes when creating an abstracted drawing.
Is this course suitable for me?
This course in an excellent starting point for beginners who want to explore drawing as well as those with more confidence.
Please bring your own apron to all classes.

Attendance Policy
In order to get the most out of your course you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. We recommend at least 90%. If you do have a holiday booked during term time please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes. If you are unavoidably ill or unable to attend please contact 01634 338400 so that we can let your tutor know, and so they can send you any work you may have missed
