Description
Creative Writing 2 offers a versatile platform for developing essential storytelling skills applicable across fiction and non-fiction formats such as novels, scripts, and stage plays, making it suitable for both beginners and those who have some experience with creative writing. Through engaging exercises focused on crafting beginnings and foundational elements, learners will explore creating compelling narratives, characters, and dialogue, culminating in projects such as short stories, scripts for plays or films. This course emphasises practical application and creativity, enabling participants to enhance their writing craft in diverse formats and genres.

WHAT WILL I LEARN ON THIS COURSE?
Through written exercises, class discussion, and reading, learners will undergo a review of basic story-writing processes, and be introduced to more advanced techniques of creative writing.
Learners will:
1. Write the detailed plot for a short story or script, with typical supporting development documentation.
2. Write a 1000-word short story.
3. Explore the relationships between at least 3 fictional characters

IS THIS COURSE SUITABLE FOR ME?
Suitable for beginners and those with some experience of writing, aimed at those who completed creative writing 1.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS COURSE?
There will be a written assignment to be completed each week, these can usually be completed in 1-2 hours, but this can vary.
Please be aware that whilst this course is practical in nature some sessions will include paperwork and course forms
WILL THERE BE ADDITIONAL COSTS?
Learners may wish to obtain books, and some other materials, related to this course but that is optional. The tutor will discuss recommended texts with you throughout the course.
