What will I learn on this course?
Learners will: 1. Learn how to measure correctly and accurately. 2. Use division to use and transfer those measurements correctly onto paper. 3. Use addition to add the correct seam allowances where required. Learners will also: - Leave the course with one individually designed top and made to measure pattern. - Design their own top, using subtraction or addition to allow for ‘use-ease’ and double-check their pattern using multiplication. - Cut out their top from supplied fabrics, using addition to work out fabric needs. - Sew the top using overlockers.

Is this course suitable for me?
No experience necessary. Your tutor will guide you step by step through the process of designing your top, cutting your pattern, and then making the top. Overlocker instruction will be given where required. All tools and resources are provided for learner use.

Your tutor can talk to you about other subject related course available. Medway Adult Education works with many partners locally such as Midkent College and the University of Kent; information about their courses can be found in our studios, café and on Moodle. Attendance Policy
In order to get the most out of your course you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. We recommend at least 85%. If you do have a holiday booked during term time please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes. If you are unavoidably ill or unable to attend please contact 01634 338400 so that we can let your tutor know, and so they can send you any work you may have missed

How are digital skills used and enhanced on this course
Students will be encouraged to have a browse on the internet for designs jersey tops. They may choose to apply those new ideas to their designs, or to try and make another in the future with those ideas.
