What Will I Learn On This Course?
• Reading and writing skills- understanding job adverts, completing application forms, writing CV’s and cover letters • Speaking and listening- practising interview questions, workplace conversations and customer service scenarios • Employability focus- teamwork, communication, rights and responsibilities at work and digital skills for job applications • Grammar and vocabulary- everyday and workplace- specific language development.

Is This Course Suitable For Me?
You need to be 19 years and over and have no GCSE 4/C or equivalent qualifications in English. Before you begin your studies, an initial assessment will take place in order to help us to place you on the most suitable course.

Is There Anything Else I Need To Know About This Course?
This course is aimed at adult who: • Returning to education • Jobseekers aiming to improve communication skills for work • Those preparing for further study

Will There Be Additional Costs?
No additional costs. All materials will be provided

What Could I Go On To Do After This Course?
Your tutor can talk to you about other subject related courses and progression routes available, such us Functional Skills English Level 1 or digital skills training , which are run through MAE. If you need further advice, please telephone 01634 338400 Medway Adult Education works with many partners locally such as UCA and the University of Kent. Information about their courses can be found in our centres, cafe and Moodle.

What Is The Attendance Policy?
In order to get the most out of your course, you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. We recommend at least 90%. If you do have a holiday booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes. If you are unavoidably ill or unable to attend, please contact 01634 338400 so that we can let your tutor know and so they can send you any work you may have missed

How are IT/Digital skills used and enhanced on this course?
You may need to use the internet for some of your course- using a tablet, laptop or computer. The tutor will speak to you about useful websites, apps and online resources which you may be asked to use for homework.
