Description
In this Level 1 Safeguarding course, you'll discover how to prevent and detect harm to children and young people. You'll examine different types of abuse, the tell-tale signs, and the procedures that need to be followed to report it. You'll study key legislation which protects young people from harm, as well as how you can help them to stay safe from dangers such as cyber-bullying.
This online learning safeguarding course is essential for those who come into contact with children as part of their working role including voluntary work and those who work with children on a daily basis e.g. teachers, dental staff, nursery nurses, child-minders, foster carers, teaching assistants or administration staff.

Understand the need to stay safe whilst working online within the learning environment
Understanding the key point of internet privacy, confidentiality, data protections and freedom of information guidelines within the learning environment
Unit 5
Investigating harassment and bullying in a learning environment
Know what is meant by harassment and bullying
Understand policies and procedures for harassment and bullying within a learning environment

This course is designed to give you an insight into where you may like to develop your
studies further and gives you the opportunity to as the tutor any questions you may have regarding the progression courses.
Is there anything I need to know about this course?
Learners will be expected to attend all sessions and be prepared to complete any work set by the tutor– these need to be completed on a computer or laptop and emailed to the tutor before the next session.
You will need to attend with a pen and paper to use for note taking.

IThis course is delivered online via Zoom and all work will need to be completed on a suitable device and uploaded.
