Course Information Sheet

Description

Immerse yourself in the relaxing and engaging heritage craft of wood whittling with our one day whittling course. Whittling is a craft that requires few tools to create a wide variety of items from simple shapes to more intricate figures and useful objects such as spoons. The course is designed for both beginners and those looking to refresh their skills. You will be able to work at your own pace with assistance from an experienced woodcarver. In our friendly workshop you will be introduced to safe working practices, wood selection, choosing the right tool, how to keep your tools sharp and the practical techniques for shaping wood with a knife.

This is a non-funded course and as such concessionary rates do not apply.

After spending time getting to know how to handle and use the whittling knife safely you will complete a simplified design for the face of wood spirit with a flowing beard that you will be able to take home with you.

All tools and materials are included in this one-day course.
