Description

This craft club is aimed at a mixture of local native speaking residents and ESOL learners wishing to extend their English Language skills whist engaging in a social craft activity.
These craft sessions are suitable for all levels, beginner to experienced crafter.
ESOL LEARNERS WILL NEED AN INITIAL ASSESSMENT BEFORE ENROLEMNT WITH THE IAG TEAM - please telephone 01634 338400.  

What Will I Learn On This Course?
Learners will learn the skills of applique and hand embroidery to create decorative panels for exhibiting at our centres. 1. Introduction to the craft – Demonstrate the related H&S rules for the tools and equipment. 2. Experiment with the practical skills. 3. Use the skills to produce at least one example of the craft. 4. Explore the environmental impact of one relevant craft material. Whether you would like to learn new creative skills or to investigate the possibility of a new craft-based career, MAE Community Learning courses can provide you with a stepping stone to progress

Is There Anything Else I Need To Know About This Course?
Please be aware that whilst this course is practical in nature some sessions will include theory and professional related training such as H&S, risk assessments, public liability etc Resources and materials will be supplied, although if learners have their own, they are welcome to bring that along.

What Is The Attendance Policy?
Multiple sessions- To get the most out of your course you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. We recommend at least 90%. If you do have a holiday booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes. If you are unavoidably ill or unable to attend, please contact 01634 338400 so that we can let your tutor know, and so they can send you any work you may have missed
